U.S. Supreme Court Takes on Gay Marriage

The U.S. Supreme Court today decided to here two cases challenging the constitutionality of state and federal laws dealing with the recognition of gay marriage. Once case involves DOMA, or the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal benefits to same-sex couples legally married in their own state. The other's California's Proposition 8, a referendum that took away the right of same sex-marriage that had been granted by state courts.
