Residents of West Des Moines’ 2nd ward will elect a new City COuncil members in a February special election. Charles Schneider resigned from the seat after he was elected to the state legislature. The Des Moines Register reports the winner will fill the remainder of Schneider’s term, which ends Dec. 31, 2015. The 2nd Ward covers the northwestern end of the city, and includes Polk and Dallas Counties.
