Texting 911 Going Nat'l By May 2014

The FCC says th AT and T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have agreed to add emergency 911 texting to your cell phone by May 2014. Parts of it should start appearing next year. KCCI reports the deal will mean over 90% U.S. cellphone users would be able to access emergency services by sending a text message to 911. This could be a big help in situations where a voice call could put someone in danger.
