The NRA's broken its silence since Friday's massacre in Newtown, Connecticut saying it will make a major announcement in the Washington, D.C. area Friday, and says it's "prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again." Two national polls done since the shooting say more Americans want tougher gun laws, but also show 40% don't think that would've prevented the tragedy.
