A Des Moines police officer's recovering after she was hit by an SUV late last night. The Des Moines Register reports Candice Lassiter is in an intensive care unit, but she is conscious and in stable condition. Investigators say Lassiter was outside her car, investigating an accident when she was hit. The driver of the SUV's been cited for failing to maintain control.
