The State Senate Education Committee chose not to recommend the nominations of two current members of the State Board of Regents, Board President Craig Lang and Robert Cramer. Democrats had concerns about Lang's leadership, and the committee wondered if conservative views held by Craig, on certain issues could compromise the academic values of the universities the board oversees.
