Pawn Shops Return Stolen Goods Bill

Pawn shops would have to return stolen goods to their original owners at no cost under a bill that passed the house today. The legislation requires cities that regulate pawn shops to include a provision on the return of stolen property. The merchandise would have to be identified as stolen by a law enforcement official, and persons claiming stolen goods would have to verify they were the owner.
