Ankeny's City Council will discuss mayoral candidates in open session Monday, before they pick a replacement for outgoing Mayor Steve Van Oort December 10th. The Des Moines Register reports he's resigning December 7th to join the Polk County Board of Supervisors. Once the appointment is made on Dec. 10, there's a 2-week period for residents to petition for a special election.
