Liquor Sales Up in Last Budget Year

State officials say a combination of changes in how hard liquor's sold and new flavored alcoholic drinks that appeal to young people and women, have led to a rise in sales. According to KCCI for the fiscal year ended June 30th, sales of booze were up over 6%. For the budget year, Iowans 21 and up drank an average of 35.6 gallons of beer, 2.23 gallons of booze, and 1.9 gallons of wine.
