Someone stole a Salvation Army red kettle from a Hy-Vee store on Des Moines south side today. According to KCCI, the kettle was empty, but it's worth $35, and the stand it sits on is worth $200. Police say this is the first stolen kettle report they've had in the Des Moines metro area in about two years.
