The 17-year old boy shot by Hardin County Sheriff Timothy Smith, is in serious condition today at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Smith says he shot the boy along a road near Hubbard Friday, after the boy raised a gun in his direction and refused an order to drop it. Iowa DPS is investigating, but need to hear from the teen before they can issue a report.
