Republicans have a special nominating convention tonight for the 22nd State Senate District, which covers Clive, Windsor Heights, Waukee and parts of West Moines and Dallas County. The GOP needs a candidate to replace State Sen. Pat Ward who lost her battle with cancer last month. Among the people who've expressed an interest in the post are John Ward, the late senators husband.
