Drought's Shrinking Big Creek Lake

Iowa DNR says this years' drought dropped the water level at Big Creek Lake by more than 6'. A department spokesperson says the water level's still falling by about 6" a week. The level's allowed crews installing new boat ramps to pour the concrete slabs where they need them instead of pouring them on shore. Unfortunately, if levels keep falling, the boat ramps will be unusable.
