The Board of Directors of the Greater Des Moines YMCA have signed off on a plan to buy the old Polk County Convention Complex. This is part of a larger land swap involving the County, Wellmark and the YMCA. A new YMCA will call the Plex building home. The deal opens up the downtown waterfront property that's the current YMCA home.
