A former Newton doctor's been charged with 114 federal crimes, including illegally distributing drugs and defrauding private and public insurers. The indictment against Dr. Lafayette Twyner, Jr. alleges among other things, that he prescribed addictive drugs without performing adequate examinations. The Des Moines Register reports Twyner's lawyer says his client's done nothing wrong.
