Volunteers are getting ready to make over 20,000 cookies for the Great Cookie Walk in West Des Moines. The event's Saturday November 24th, with proceeds benefiting the Youth Justice Initiative. The Des Moines Register reports an event leading up to the walk, the Great Cookie of the Year Contest, is Wednesday afternoon at the West Des Moines Christian Church on Mills Civic Parkway.
