Des Moines City Council today approved a plan for a $32-million project that would bring two new hotels and a parking garage to downtown. KCCI reports it would be built just south of Court Avenue along the Des Moines River. The project, from an Iowa developer, would start with a Hampton Inn, then the garage. A second hotel would go up in downtown in five years.
