Municipal Borrowing Up

According to a new report from the State Treasurer's Office, state and local government's have upped borrowing by 6%, but Iowa, with almost $14-billion in debt has one of the nations lowest piles of red ink. KCCI reports Iowa cities are carrying almost $5-billion of that total. The state's debt went up 33% over the last fiscal year to about $1-billion.
