James Holmes, the suspect in the murders of 12 at a Colorado movie theater, had applied to the graduate neuroscience program at U of I in 2010. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports paperwork released by the university reports Holmes' application was denied, with one professor putting in writing after the application interview: "Do NOT offer admission under any circumstances."
