DM Only Co-op Grocery Going Out of Business

The only grocery cooperative in the Des Moines area's closing Sunday. Talllgrass Grocery's Co-op board decided to shut down it's Valley Junction retail store last night. The store at 116 5th Street in West Des Moines, is selling all of its remaining inventory at 50% off. The store opened less than a year ago, and officials say the problem's been low sales levels.
