Alliant Energy creating several hundred construction jobs as part of a bigger project to boost its' ability to produce electricity. KCCI reports the biggest part of the plan is Alliant's expansion of its Marshalltown power plant, at a cost of up to $750-million. A spokesperson says the project should be finished and be on line by 2017.
