More restaurants are opening in Altoona. Maid-Rite Diner is looking to return to the city at one of several different locations along Eighth Street, and the Dairy Queen recently went through an update and got a new look. Don Coates is the Eastern Polk Regional Development director, and according to the Register, says the economy in Altoona is strong with a solid daytime population of individuals who work in the area, and easy access to I-80.
