A second property owner's now applied for a special permit to have Immigration and Customs Enforcement open center in downtown Des Moines. This properties at 315 SW 14th St. It's in the Riverpoint district, an area the city considering for commercial, retail and residential redevelopment. A request for a permit at a 9th street location's drawn opposition from Mayor Crownie and 2 major employers because it would be close to residential properties and child care facilities.
