Authorities are worried about fires. The State Fire Marshall's extended a burn ban for Boone and Story County's to Polk County, and ABC5 reports it will remain in place indefinitely. are ripe for fast moving fires to break out in central Iowa. Dry conditions couple with gusting winds make it east for a small fire to quickly get out of control. Local fire departments have been busy with grass and brush fires the last several weeks.
