Des Moines police investigators said yesterday that a woman found dead on Friday was involved in an assault at the time of her death. KCCI reports Kathryn Mitchell was found dead in her apartment on Friday after a 911 call was received from a pay phone at a gas station. Police said the caller has been identified and is involved in the investigation. Detectives have confirmed that Mitchell died from injuries sustained in an assault. The specifics to the types of injuries and location of the injuries are not being disclosed.
