Top Republican and Democratic leaders of the legislature say Gov. Branstad's plan to raise casino taxes won't be part of the conversation as they work out a new state budget to end the current session. GOP House Speaker Kraig Paulsen says there's been no discussion of the tax in the House. Senate Majority Leader Michael Gronstal says his democratic colleagues have no interest in raising taxes. Appearing on Iowa Public TV's "Iowa Press," say they expect lawmakers will find compromises that'll get the legislature out on schedule.
