You may recall that in 2009 the Iowa Utilities board decided to allow MidAmerican Energy to increase rates to help pay for an ongoing wind energy production project. Well the Iowa Supreme court has now weighed in on the matter and their decision means the utlitiy company can increase your rates to help pay for renewable energy. The board orignally made the decision saying the project would reduce emissions and help with economic Development.
