Iowa Public Universities Want Tuition Rate Freeze Next Year

The heads of Iowa's public universities are backing a plan proposed by Board of Regents President Craig Land, to freeze tuition for all state residents next year. The universities hiked tuition by 3.75% this school year. Lang says they can keep rates where they are next year thanks in part to higher enrollment at ISU and U of I. The Des Moines Register says part of the plan's getting lawmakers to raise funding by 2.6%.
