The Des Moines metro's getting a hand from the Brookings Institution to expand its exports. The Des Moines Register reports the area's been picked to be part of the Metropolitan Export Initiative. A Greater Des Moines Partnership spokesperson says the Initiative's a great way to get central Iowa businesses more competitive in the international marketplace.
