State DNR's working with the EPA and U.S. Fish and Wildlife on cleaning up a leak of used oil into the North Raccoon River near Jefferson. Authorities don't know how much oil they're dealing with. The spill happened last week, and the area affected is 10 to 15-miles downstream from where a valve malfunctioned on a storage tank at Kreiger's Greenhouse.
