Rocky Morning Weather

Storms rocked parts of Iowa this morning. The strongest ones hit north of Des Moines, and the National Weather Service says the most substantial damage was in Story, Marshall, Tama and Benton counties with wind gusts topping 70 mph. Power went off to 3100 customers of MidAmerican in Polk City, Polk County, Carlisle, Elkhardt and parts of the city of Des Moines. KCCI reports most of them had power back by early this afternoon.
