Wind Energy Project Scrapped

A planned $400 million stored-energy park near Dallas Center have been scrapped after a report raised questions about its viability. KCCI reports the Iowa Stored Energy Park Agency plan would have taken wind energy during off-peak hours, and pumped compressed air to an aquifer 3,000 feet down and bring it back to the surface during peak hours. The problem: geological tests found the reservoir wouldn't work for a project this size.
