A judge today set August 22nd as the tentative date for the new trial of David Flores. He was convicted of killing Phyllis David during a running gun battle between rival gangs in Des Moines in 2009. An appeals court granted Flores a new trial based on new information including the fact Flores’ attorney never got a key police report before the trial.
