Families and friends welcomed home busloads of Iowa National Guard troops yesterday on the final leg of their journey home from Afghanistan. Whoops and whistles, hugs and tears met the returning soldiers of the Davenport-based Iowa National Guard unit. All 3-thousand state National Guard troops are expected to return from their one-year assignment by the first week in August.
