Harkin Challenged by Disabled Advocates

A group of National Federation of the Blind Iowa members stage a protest outside Sen. Tom Harkin's Des Moines office today. They want him to know they're not happy with a bill he's written, allowing employers to pay disabled workers less than the minimum wage. The group says that's unfair and everyone should be paid equally. Harkin wrote the Americans with Disabilities Act, signed into law 21-years ago, that bans discrimination in hiring based on disabilities.
