Forbes magazine says the Des Moines metro's #1 in the nation for young professionals. Forbes says Iowa’s capital has a higher concentration of big businesses than any other city assessed - one for every 568 residents. That, said the magazine, means “more job opportunities.“ The magazine says those opportunities translate into an unemployment in Des Moines of 5.8%, 6th lowest of the 100 cities they surveyed.
