Preschool learning programs got a political boost yesterday in Des Moines, as dozens of educators, early childhood advocates and politicians met at Carver Community School. The roundtable discussion on early learning included the Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. Education officials pushed for extra outreach to the neediest families and extra money from the federal government.
