Excessive Heat COntinues

Our heat wave shows no sign of relenting...and it may lock in through next weekend. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning in effect until 9 p.m. Thursday, and forecasters say it could be extended another three days.
Afternoon high temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s Sunday through Wednesday, forecasters said. Overnight lows will only fall into the mid to upper 70s. Sweltering humidity throughout the period will produce heat index temperatures from 100 to 115 degrees each afternoon and around 80 at night. Cooling centers are open across the area.
