Appeal Promised in Suit Against State Over Minority Hiring Practices

The rejection of a class-action racial bias suit against the state yesterday, got strong reaction today. The NAACP and plaintiffs told a news conference this morning that the court was more interested in saving the state money than getting justice for African-Americans. They also promised to appeal and continue to press the case for 6,000 black plaintiffs passed over for state jobs between 2003 and 2007.
