Extra officers will on the streets of West Des Moines this weekend, making sure you stay say. The beefed up presence is tied to the crowds expected in the area for the Drake Relays. The extra patrols will be on Friday through Sunday. They're hoping the higher visibility will deter drivers from drinking and driving. The enforcement's being paid for with a grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
