This Could Be a Very Big Road Work Season

Spending on construction to match the 2009 record of $600-million, even it lawmakers haven't moved ahead with raising the gasoline tax to raise more road money. The Des Moines Register reports some of the major projects in the area include widening I-35 from three to six lanes in West Des Moines, rebuilding the I-80/U.S. 65 interchange in Altoona, and finishing the Ankeny interchange on I-35 at N.E. 36th Avenue.
