Fruit growers are hoping to get through tonight and tomorrow night's cold snap with minimal crop losses. The National Weather Service expects temps to hit the 20's tonight,. especially north of U.S. 30. Areas South of Hwy 30 are expected to hit the 30's. The Des Moines Register reports fruit blossoms arrived about a month early this year, and growers have been worried about a freeze.
