State House Passes Mental Health Reform

The Iowa House today passed an overhaul of the state's mental health system. The bill creates a regional network to provide quality and consistent service statewide. The House bill now goes to the State Senate where they've already passed a similar bill. There are some minor differences between the two, but the Senate's expected to approve the House version. It's expected to cost the state $52 million to take over some of the services now being run by counties.
