Frost May Have Cut Half the Grape Crop

The exceptionally early start to the grape season in march, thanks to higher than normal temperatures, has lost about half its' crop, thanks to the frost this week. An Iowa State University expert tells the Des Moines Register all is not lost, since the grape plants can make to close to 50% of the primary bud. Frost isn't unusual, but the well above average temps over the last month and a half was.
