The don't have a deal to merge, but KCCI reports US Airways has come to terms with American Airlines unions on supporting a merger between the two carriers. Both airlines serve Des Moines International. American's in bankruptcy protection, and wants to toss all of its existing labor contracts,impose its own terms, and cut 13,000 jobs. US Airways says a merger could save close to half those jobs.
