According to Cedar Rapids police, at least two people were wounded in a shooting at an apartment complex near Kirkwood Community College.
According to Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, the shooting happened at mid-day yesterday in the Kirkwood Court Apartments, and two shooting victims were taken to hospital. A third shooting victim then showed up at a hospital in a private vehicle a few minutes later, but according to investigators, it is unknown whether that incident is related.
Kirkwood Community College and other nearby schools were locked down, as a precaution, until 2 p.m.
At the time of the report, it was unknown whether students were involved in the shooting.
