Tornados, Flash Floods and Crushed Cars All Over Iowa

Last night, severe storms broke out across Iowa, with Creston being the hardest hit. According to Creston police, the greater regional medical center was hit and damaged by a tornado. As a result, the emergency room has been moved elsewhere in Creston. South West Community College also took a direct hit.
Power in Creston was almost completely out, last night, as Alliant Energy crews were busy working, in the area to restore power.
Here in Des Moines, a flash flood warning was in effect throughout Saturday night. Public Works crews were barricading streets too dangerous to drive on. Stalled cars were scattered throughout the area. A lot of the streets were under more than two feet of water.
The Sherman Hill Neighborhood was hit hard by high winds. Three different roads were blocked as a result of downed trees and many cars were completely smashed.
