Gov. Branstad released his income tax returns today. He earned over $190,000 last year, and paid $24,000 in taxes. KCCI reports his annual salary is $116,000/year, with a $53,000 pension from his first 4 year term as Governor. He paid almost $18,000 in federal, $4,500 in Social Security, $1,770 in Medicaid, and $52 in state income taxes. His deductions included investment loses and contributions to his grand children's college fund.
