JOBS COMING TO LEE

Lee County Supervisors OK'd a development agreement this morning with Iowa Fertilizer Co., a subsidiary of Egyptian-owned Orascom, that paves the way for a $1.4 billion fertilizer plant in the Green Bay Bottoms.
The project would create 165 permanent jobs, paying about $48,000 annually, and 2,500 construction jobs.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board agreed in February to provide the incentives to Orascom to build the plant which will produce nitrogen fertilizer and other products that will be sold to farmers in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
