MidAmerican Asks Customers to be Their Eyes

MidAmerican Energy says thieves have tried to steal copper from several of their substations in the last few weeks. According to KCCI, the company's asking customers to report an suspicious activity they see around their power poles, entering substations or carrying coiled wire when there are no MidAmerican vehicles in the area. The utility says anyone caught stealing copper could face felony charges under an Iowa utility trespassing law.
